The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Associate degree
  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience completing intake assessments and performing related administrative or clerical duties
  • ASAM certification
  • Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) or Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) credential

Description

Merakey is launching a pioneering Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) in the Kensington area of Philadelphia -one of the city's most impacted neighborhoods by addiction and homelessness. This initiative embeds urgent, compassionate care directly into the community, offering services like substance use treatment (including Methadone), primary care, crisis response, and court support.

Merakey Parkside's Mobile Program is seeking a dedicated Mobile Intake Counselor to provide comprehensive Strength-Based Comprehensive Assessments (SBCAs) and intake evaluations for individuals seeking MMT, MAT, and non-MAT services. This role also provides short-term counseling support while clients stabilize on MMT/MAT. The position involves community-based work throughout Philadelphia, with travel to various program sites across the city.

Earn $24.56/hour

General Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct intake and Strength-Based Comprehensive Assessments (SBCAs) and determine appropriate services based on clinical need and stage of change.

  • Provide short-term counseling during stabilization periods for MMT/MAT clients.

  • Present comprehensive client reviews (PIRs) to the medical department and clinical team.

  • Engage and educate clients who may be resistant to treatment, encouraging participation in therapy and support services.

  • Build rapport with clients while maintaining professional boundaries.


The position is grant-funded for at least 1 year, with extensions possible.
