The Office of Legal Services in Fayette County is seeking a Legal Secretary to assist with daily duties, including typing legal proceedings, composing correspondence, maintaining attorney calendars, filing documents with the court, setting up and organizing files, answering phones, logging and monitoring mail, case entry into the office database, and archiving case files.

Daily Administrative Duties

  • Answering phones
  • Monitoring and logging mail
  • Handling attorney calendars
  • Organizing case files
  • Entering information into the office database
  • Archiving case files when necessary
  • Preparing travel vouchers
  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong phone and communication skills to assist with incoming calls

Minimum Requirements

Education: High school graduate.

Experience, Training, or Skills: Four years of clerical experience.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year for year basis.

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year for year basis.
