The Financial Institutions Recruiting Specialist plays a crucial role in attracting and onboarding individual advisors and financial programs for partner banks and credit unions. This position serves as the main point of contact for financial institution partners regarding individual advisor recruiting needs.
Core responsibilities include opening new requisitions, conducting cold calls and proactive outreach, presenting the financial institution and Cetera value proposition, responding to advertising and web leads, and coordinating with external recruiting firms. The role involves collaboration with various management teams to develop a systematic and segmented recruiting strategy, as well as arranging and coordinating visits, face‑to‑face meetings, and conference calls.
What you will do:
- Develop leads and build relationships with prospective Financial Advisors through professional, persistent outreach.
- Create recruiting plans for assigned territories and financial institution partners.
- Meet established recruitment goals.
- Act as the primary contact for advisor recruiting efforts with financial institution program management, human resources, prospective Financial Advisors, and the Cetera Financial Institution Growth organization.
- Articulate and promote the financial institution and Cetera business models and the benefits of affiliation.
- Evaluate advisor fit based on business profile and interactions with both the advisor and key decision‑makers at the financial institution.
- Deliver business presentations and provide consultative support on CIS services, products, and technology.
- Prepare and present recruiting performance updates to executives.
- Track recruiting activity using tools such as Salesforce and Excel.
- Participate in outbound social media and call campaigns related to advisor opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to enhance recruiting processes and implement solutions.
- Support the onboarding process for new advisors.
What you will have:
- Proven experience as a sales professional, with a proven network of financial advisors
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to craft and communicate compelling value propositions to prospective advisors
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including effective presentation techniques
- Proficiency in Salesforce and Microsoft Excel
- Solid understanding of the sales process and key performance metrics
- In‑depth knowledge of the financial services industry, including advisor business models and institutional partnerships
- Ability to represent the organization professionally within the community and industry associations
What is nice to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field
- 5 – 8 years of experience in advisor recruiting, particularly within financial institution investment programs
- FINRA Series 7 and 65 or 66 licenses
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Compensation Range:
The base annual salary range for this role is $75,000 to $90,000, plus a competitive incentive compensation package. Base annual salary depends on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and location. Base annual salary may also differ significantly due to geography and cost of labor considerations.
