Job Description
We're searching for a Manufacturing Engineer to enhance our manufacturing processes and maintain the highest levels of production efficiency. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, hands-on operational skills and a change-agent mindset. Ideal candidates should be safety conscious, adept at problem-solving, have a keen eye for improving processes, and be ready to collaborate in a dynamic team environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing strategic manufacturing processes, driving increased efficiency and reduced costs.
- Provide detailed documentation and standard operating procedures, ensuring compliance with business, plant and industry standards and policies.
- Supporting and analyzing present tooling and equipment to make replacement/rebuild recommendations.
- Leading and following the entire build/purchase of machine/assembly equipment, fixtures and other new technologies from purchase order to PPAP and into production.
- Leverage root-cause analysis tools to resolve safety, quality and technical issues that arise during the manufacturing process.
- Coaching teams on lean manufacturing concepts and implementation of same towards continuous improvement
- Oversee the development of CNC programs for the routers and other equipment, as necessary
- Utilize the Enterprise Resource Planner (ERP) and other systems to create Bill of Materials (BOM) and routings, Manufacturing Orders (MO) Packets, etc,
- Support the maintenance department, providing any technical advice required.
- Leading the development, implementation and execution of a robust quality assurance and control system
- Driving the development and maintenance of shop drawings.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or similar role.
- Proven experience as a change agent in a high change/turnaround environment
- Experience with CAD software and MS Office.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail with a continuous improvement mindset
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong communications skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to sit for extended durations while working on a computer
- Ability to lift and carry up to 15 lbs
- Physical stamina to endure periods of standing, walking, and lifting
- Ability to reach with hands and arms
- Periodic exposure to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, and chemicals
- Periodic exposure to outdoor weather conditions
