Job Description:
As an Enterprise Cloud & Compute Operations Architect, the selected candidate will support the strategic oversight and operational execution of cloud and compute technologies across the organization. This role ensures alignment with executive leadership's vision and roadmap, while delivering robust, scalable, and secure solutions that meet internal and external service expectations.
Key Responsibilities: • Lead architecture and engineering teams for cloud and compute technologies • Align enterprise technology needs with strategic vision and roadmap • Interpret market trends to inform technology foundations and product direction • Foster unified team culture across distributed IT groups • Promote customer-oriented service delivery and continuous improvement • Provide direction to matrixed teams supporting enterprise and customer needs • Develop and maintain KPIs, reports, and executive dashboards • Monitor service effectiveness and drive operational improvements • Facilitate continuity and disaster recovery planning • Establish resiliency standards and implement recovery strategies • Balance short- and long-term initiatives for optimal service delivery • Lead projects for design, implementation, and management of systems • Create business cases and cost-benefit analyses for technology investments • Document standards, policies, and procedures for operations • Resolve technical issues independently and cost-effectively • Evaluate capacity and scalability of services • Communicate incidents and risks related to technology services • Approve and prioritize operational projects within the enterprise portfolio • Define and communicate operational procedures and standards • Evaluate and manage performance of team members • Identify and mitigate risks in service delivery • Support strategic planning and performance evaluation • Assist executive leadership in managing cloud and compute initiatives • Demonstrate expertise in architectural and infrastructural concepts • Lead ITSM process adoption and maturity • Manage IT service knowledge and improve service metrics annually • Drive service management maturity across the enterprise • Travel as required, including overnight stays
Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies: • Proven leadership in cloud and compute architecture within large enterprises • Ability to align technology strategy with executive vision • Experience guiding matrixed organizations supporting diverse stakeholders • Strong record of building unified, customer-focused IT cultures • Hands-on experience with ITSM processes (incident, problem, change, etc.) • Demonstrated improvement in ITSM metrics and service performance • Expertise in SLA/KPI tracking and executive reporting • Deep knowledge of AWS (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, CloudFormation, CloudWatch) • Proficiency in Azure (VMs, VNets, Resource Manager, Monitor, Security Center) • Experience with hybrid and multi-cloud architectures • Skilled in IaaS/PaaS design for cost, performance, and security • Familiarity with cloud governance frameworks and compliance enforcement • Experience with sovereign/government cloud environments (e.g., AWS GovCloud, Azure Government)
The hourly range for roles of this nature are $60.00 to $90.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
