ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:
CPI is seeking a
Software Scrum Master
to facilitate and support an agile software development team. The selected candidate will ensure adherence to Scrum principles and agile best practices while enabling collaboration, continuous improvement, and high-quality software delivery.
This position requires strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities, as well as experience coordinating agile activities for complex software programs supporting defense and safety-critical systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead and facilitate
daily team syncs, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives . Ensure the development team follows
agile principles and Scrum framework . Identify and remove
impediments and blockers
to maintain steady progress. Foster a
collaborative, self-organizing team environment
that promotes accountability and innovation. Assist the Product Owner in
refining and maintaining the product backlog
and ensuring readiness for sprint planning. Track and communicate
team metrics and progress
to stakeholders. Coach and mentor team members in
agile methodologies and continuous improvement
practices. Coordinate across product, software, and program leadership to align development schedules. Promote a
culture of quality and customer focus , ensuring all deliverables meet requirements and expectations. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in engineering , Computer Science, or a related discipline. Experience working with
software development teams
in an agile environment. Proficiency with
JIRA and GitLab , including metric interpretation and reporting. Ability to refine requirements and support
program planning
and scheduling activities. Strong
communication, interpersonal, organizational, and leadership
skills. Familiarity with
safety-critical software development
standards such as
MIL-STD-882E, ISO 26262 , or equivalent. Ability to work
occasional evenings or weekends
to support program milestones. U.S. Citizenship required
due to government contract requirements. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) ,
Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) , or
Certified Product Owner (CSPO)
certification. Familiarity with
DevOps/DevSecOps
principles and
CI/CD pipelines . Experience with
Ground Common Infrastructure Architecture (GCIA) ,
Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE) , or
Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) . Knowledge of
DoD and safety-critical software environments . Eligibility for a
U.S. Security Clearance . WORKPLACE OPTIONS:
