ABOUT THE POSITION
Children's Services of Roxbury (CSR) seeks one to two paid graduate student interns for the
2025-26 academic year
to help document program impact and strengthen a data-driven culture of continuous improvement. Interns will support one of two focus areas- Youth Programs Data Analysis
or
Program Data Integrity & Systems Development -and contribute to quantitative analysis, storytelling for non-academic audiences, and scalable data processes across the organization. This role advances CSR's mission by turning data into practical insights that improve outcomes for children, youth, and families.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Contribute to quantitative analyses (e.g., data mining, survey analysis) that measure program impact. • Translate findings into clear, actionable summaries for internal teams and external (non-academic) audiences. • Support the design and documentation of data systems, processes, and standards that improve data quality and usability. • Perform related duties within scope, including literature scans, instrument design support, and data visualizations.
Project Track (assigned based on skills/experience): • Youth Programs Data Analysis: Analyze outcomes for youth/young adult programs (e.g., Youth, Purpose & Partnership; You Got This Center; Beats, Rhymes & Life) and quantify program value. • Program Data Integrity & Systems Development: Improve data accuracy and infrastructure; help unify participant records and establish consistent processes for counts and demographics.
REQUIREMENTS • Current graduate or post-doc student in social sciences, education, public health, or a related field. • Strong quantitative and analytical skills. • Clear, concise written and oral communication skills. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. • Commitment to CSR's mission and to collaborative, community-based learning/evaluation models. • Youth development/program experience (for the Youth Programs track). • Database management, systems development, or data integrity experience (for the Systems track). • Experience communicating analytic results to non-technical audiences (dashboards, briefs, one-pagers). • Familiarity with common analysis/visualization tools (e.g., Excel/GA4/Looker Studio/R/SPSS/Power BI/Tableau).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK CONDITIONS • Primarily desk-based; prolonged computer use expected. • Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation. • Work is approximately
10 hours per week
during the academic year; schedule coordinated with supervisor.
SALARY & BENEFITS •
$24 per hour
