Certifications: Must have relevant certifications for Cardiovascular Surgery

Must-Have:

Candidates must have experience in general surgery, orthopedic surgery, and neuro surgery as a Registered Nurse or Technologist.

Candidates applying for CVOR must have a minimum of two years of experience, specifically in adult open heart cases and both open and endovascular cases.

Experience with Open and Endovascular Aortic surgery is required.

Candidates must be willing to work with catheterization lab procedures such as trans aortic valve replacement (TAVR).

Description:

This is a contract position for a Registered Nurse specializing in Cardiovascular Operating Room procedures.

The primary role involves participating in surgical procedures relevant to the cardiovascular specialty.

The unit has 11 operating rooms and maintains a staff of around 40 for all shifts.

Day shift comprises 1 charge nurse, 11 Registered Nurses, 11 Technologists, and 2 Patient Care Technicians.

Night shift staffing varies throughout the week.

The patient-to-nurse ratio is maintained at 1:1.

Candidates should be flexible and able to adapt to different surgical environments and procedures.

The unit performs a variety of surgical procedures, including decompression, craniotomy, robotic surgery, total joint replacement, and various cardiovascular surgeries.

The ideal candidates will have a collaborative approach, willingness to assist new team members, and the ability to work extra hours if necessary.

Scrubs are provided, and the required color is light blue.

Candidates with trauma and vascular surgery experience will be given preference.
