Polk Mechanical
As a Combo Welder at Polk Mechanical, you’ll apply advanced welding techniques to fabricate, repair, and install a wide range of metal components and systems. Your work will be critical to the success of our commercial and industrial projects across Texas.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform manual welding using a variety of processes including gas torch, electric arc, and inert gas-shielded methods Weld a wide range of metals and alloys, including dissimilar metals such as copper to steel Ensure full penetration and fusion of base and filler metals while minimizing distortion and defects Weld in all positions — flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead — with precision and consistency Interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to plan and lay out work Select appropriate welding techniques, electrodes, and materials for each job Inspect finished welds for quality, strength, and conformance to specifications Perform welds subject to radiographic, magnetic particle, dye penetrant, and pressure testing What We’re Looking For:
Proficiency in
gas and arc welding processes , including gas metal-arc, gas tungsten-arc, plasma-arc, and oxy-acetylene Experience welding a variety of metals such as
steel, chrome, aluminum, copper, brass, titanium, and more Ability to read and interpret
blueprints and technical drawings Strong understanding of
welding standards, tolerances, and inspection methods Skilled in working in tight or hard-to-reach spaces while maintaining weld quality Self-motivated with the ability to plan, lay out, and execute complex welding tasks independently Minimum
5 years of experience
