Our client is seeking a
Senior Data Infrastructure Engineer
with a strong background in data engineering and real-time data streaming to join their fast-paced financial technology environment. This role involves designing, building, and optimizing large-scale data infrastructure to support critical financial systems and analytics. This is a hybrid position based in New York City, NY.
Starting at $200,000/year.
Senior Data Infrastructure Engineer's Responsibilities and Duties:
Design, develop, and maintain high-performance data pipelines and real-time streaming systems. Leverage KDB/q and Python to manage, process, and analyze large-scale time-series and transactional data. Optimize data storage, retrieval, and processing performance across distributed systems. Collaborate with developers, quants, and data scientists to ensure data integrity, scalability, and availability. Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance existing infrastructure for reliability and efficiency. Automate workflows and system operations using Python and Linux scripting. Contribute to architectural decisions related to data frameworks, storage solutions, and system scalability. Senior Data Infrastructure Engineer's Qualifications and Skills:
At least 5 years of experience in data engineering or related field. Proven expertise in
KDB/q
and
Python
development. Deep understanding of
Linux systems , including performance tuning and scripting. Strong background in
real-time data streaming
and event-driven data architectures. Prior experience in
financial services
(sell side, buy side, or related domains). Familiarity with distributed data processing, networking, and database optimization. Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
