We are currently looking for a Principal Cost Controls Analyst to work in Houston, TX, for a major LNG client on an initial 1-year assignment likely to be extended.

Perform various project control activities for mega LNG projects, ranging from $1B-$12B, during all phases of the project. Serve as the subject-matter expert (SME) in project cost control and supports the group with establishing standardized project cost control best practices and manages project cost reporting. Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time to Port Arthur (if candidate lives in Houston area); will need to relocate to Port Arthur area at some point in 2026. Duties and Responsibilities

Perform project schedule analysis and track project progress, ensure cash flow ties to the progress and payment schedule. Verify and validate earned progress and ensure alignment to progress curves. Perform field verifications and reporting of installed quantities per drawings and specifications. Perform quantity audits both field and in-house and provide reports on findings. Provide evaluation and verification of earned values from Rules of Credit and Work Packages. Develop and manage guidelines and procedures for verification of progress and milestones. Work closely with Project Management Team and ensure constant communication on issues and/or potential delays. Manage progress, milestones and reporting processes. Work closely with Contractor's Project Controls and Scheduling Team ensuring timely submittals and updates of deliverables Organize and maintain reports; meeting notes/minutes. Maintain positive relationships with customers; project team members; and contractor. Work with project functional teams to support updates to project forecasts, develop plans and budgets, support AFE development, review actual progress, WBS mapping, and analyze contractor invoices and document variances to support recommendation for payment. Provide month end accruals and work with Accounting to ensure correct accruals are captured. Work with various project functional teams, support team with development of risk register, and facilitate the discussion to identify risk occurrence probability, impact, and mitigation strategies. Develop and implement standardized Project Controls best practices and ensure to adhere the standards. Review contractual agreements for various vendors and contractors, and ensure cash flows are in line with contract terms and conditions, contract type, payment schedule, etc. Work closely with Contracts Manager for change orders and provide input for analysis of delay claims or time extensions. Read and understand project contracts, specifications, and engineering documents. Prepare comprehensive reports and dashboards for stakeholders and senior management, providing clear insights into project health, risks, and performance trends. Perform quantity audits both in the field and in-house. Communicate project status using reporting tools and dashboards. Work closely with Project Management Team and ensure constant communication on issues and potential delays. Apply EVM techniques to analyze project performance against baseline targets. Develop quantity discipline trackers and adding new analysis/dashboards to existing trackers/files. Review invoice validation and provide details for discrepancies in a timely manner. Perform other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties). Education

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or other technical discipline required. Experience

At least 8+ years of experience in a similar role working directly on large industrial projects in the oil, gas, and/or LNG industry required. Prior experience in development of Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Estimate to Complete (ETC), and Estimate at Completion (EAC) required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Computer/PC skills with an emphasis on Excel and database applications. Must possess strong mathematical and analytical skills, initiative/decision-making skills, and problem-solving abilities. Project control key activities such as progress, cost, risk, schedule and contract management including ability to organize, plan, control, coordinate, and manage inter-disciplinary activities. Ability to identify issues, analyze data, develop, recommend, and implement solutions. Team player, self-starter, innovative, flexible with a positive attitude towards completion of assigned or ad-hoc tasks. Good knowledge of "generally accepted accounting principles". Understand scheduling standards and best practices; such as CPM, earned value analysis. Licenses and Certifications

Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) required. PMP and/or other professional certifications/advanced degrees preferred. #LI-MG1
