About Architect Architect is building the

intelligence layer for chip companies -compressing the time to tapeout from

3 years to 6 months . Our AI amplifies hardware engineers across

DI, DV, and PD workflows , helps build IP from the ground up, and keeps engineers in the loop at every step. Founded out of Stanford, we're one of the fastest-moving Bay Area startups, blending

frontier ML with deep chip design expertise

to transform a trillion-dollar industry. Backed by top VCs and legendary angels, we're assembling a world-class team of founding engineers and researchers to architect the next era of silicon.

The Role We are seeking a

Head of AI

to lead our ML organization and set the technical direction of AI at Architect. This is a foundational leadership role with broad ownership-defining research strategy, guiding technical execution, and scaling a team working at the frontier of AI for chip design.

You'll architect novel multi-agent systems, design training recipes, and partner with hardware experts to solve bottlenecks in chip pipelines-building the AI foundation for a trillion-dollar industry.

What You'll Do Define the

technical roadmap

for AI at Architect. Lead, mentor, and grow a

world-class team of ML engineers and researchers . Contribute hands-on to ML systems, modeling infrastructure, and research direction. Architect and deploy

agent-based systems

for RTL code generation, physical design automation, and chip reasoning tasks. Collaborate with hardware engineers to identify bottlenecks and translate them into ML solutions. Stay ahead of state-of-the-art advances in

ML4EDA, reinforcement learning, multi-agent systems, and self-supervised learning. What We'd Like to See

PhD in Computer Science, EECS, Mathematics, or related field (preferably in ML/AI). 5+ years industry experience (8+ strongly preferred) leading ML teams and shipping production systems. Deep expertise in

reinforcement learning, self-supervised training, fine-tuning (SFT), and multi-agent systems. Experience with verifiers, reward functions, and building agentic environments. Strong understanding of modern model architectures, scaling laws, and data strategy. Publications at top ML venues (NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML) or EDA conferences (DAC, ICCAD, DVCon). Track record of end-to-end model training: training recipes, data pipelines, RL post-training. Systems knowledge: cloud-native architectures, distributed training, inference scaling. Bonus Points

Prior experience in

AI for chip design

(NVIDIA, DeepMind, Synopsys, Cadence, etc.). Background in chip design, verification, or EDA workflows. Why Join Architect
