Title : Mechanical Design Engineer Location : Lisle, IL Hire Type : Direct Hire Salary :$80k-$95k/yr. Benefits : Insurance ( Health, Medical, Dental), PTO, Paid Holidays, and more!
Sterling Engineering is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer for a leading manufacturer of radiation shielding structures in Lisle, IL. The CAD Engineer will create fully detailed drawings (including BOMs and manufacturing processes) of all standard products to ensure that customer goals are met and that production teams and outside vendors have the necessary information to build those products accurately.
Job Duties: Work with the Sales team to provide concept drawings for quote purposes Create detailed manufacturing drawings, coordinating with Operations, Sales, Customers, and Vendors to ensure that products meet customer specifications and quality requirements Update existing drawings with "as built" changes as needed Work with Operations and Vendors to obtain quotes and ensure timely and quality production of products, especially with more complex projects Visit vendors to perform QC checks and resolve product or design details as needed Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Engineering Manager Qualifications :
Associate's Degree in design with a focus on mechanical, structural, or civil engineering, or equivalent training Minimum of 3 years of design experience; experience in engineered structures and/or welding processes a plus Experience designing with lead and/or stainless steel materials Ability to visualize solutions in 2D and 3D and communicate effectively through drawings, text, and verbally Familiarity with mechanical engineering and design, including material properties, construction methods, and manufacturing processes Proficient in SolidWorks software or equivalent Knowledge of ISO 9000 quality systems, steel building codes, AWS weld specs, and certification processes a plus Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with all departments
