Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-conscious Quality Technician I to join our team. This role is responsible for performing quality checks on raw materials, in-process items, and finished products to ensure consistency and compliance with food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities: Perform inspections and lab analysis including visual, organoleptic, weight, size, moisture, and salt checks. Verify packaging components such as labels, date codes, lids, and over caps. Conduct metal detection and critical control point (CCP) verification. Perform post-sanitation inspections and ATP testing. Enter data for analysis, product holds, and equipment checkouts. Conduct environmental swabbing for pathogens. Hold products that are out of specification. Follow all food safety and quality protocols including GMP, HACCP, FSMA, SQF, and regulatory requirements. Support a culture of safety by practicing safe work behaviors and reporting hazards. Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. 1 year of food quality experience preferred. Must be able to eat any snack product or nut variety for evaluation purposes. Strong attention to detail and record keeping. Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs and stand for long periods. Basic math skills. Familiarity with lab equipment including analytical scales, salt/moisture/oxygen analyzers, water activity meters, and color meters. Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
