Assistant Professor / Associate Professor of Finance Westfield State University (WSU) Department of Accounting and Finance invites applications for a full‑time, tenure‑track Assistant Professor or Associate Professor of Finance beginning in the Fall of 2026.

The selected candidate will teach courses in Financial Management, Advanced Financial Management, Personal Financial Planning, and Wealth Management as needed. In addition to teaching, faculty provide advising to students, support student events and clubs, engage in research and scholarship, and participate in service activities for the department and university.

In 2024, WSU opened a Finance/Data Analytics lab offering approximately $500,000 in hardware and software for experiential exercises in portfolio management and market dynamics, giving students access to industry tools. The successful candidate will help build out the finance curriculum and co‑curriculum to leverage these resources. Faculty have access to Bloomberg for research.

Accounting and Finance is a growing department with several new initiatives. WSU was recognized as a College of Distinction for its Business Programs in 2023‑2024.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide instruction in both in‑classroom and online environments, typically managing a 4-4 class load (usually 12 credits per semester).

Design and revise finance course curricula.

Perform service to the university and department through activities such as committees, campus activities, and other opportunities.

Cultivate curricular partnerships with programs in Management, Marketing, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, and other areas.

Advise students for course selection and academic/career goals.

Engage in ongoing scholarly activity.

Job Requirements Required Qualifications

Ph.D. at the time of application (ABD will be considered), preferably from an AACSB‑accredited institution.

Strong commitment to undergraduate teaching.

Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary department.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior teaching experience at the college level.

Demonstrated record of continuing scholarship.

Professional experience in the finance industry.

Desire to develop and teach future course offerings broadly related to the field.

Ability to engage with themes of race, class, gender, indigeneity, and historically marginalized communities in teaching, service, and scholarship.
