Key Responsibilities

Maintain, use, and develop quantitative analytics using intermediate to advanced statistical or econometric techniques to perform and enhance portfolio risk management and optimize portfolio construction.

Assist in the implementation and delivery of analytics to different areas of risk and investments.

Stay abreast of current financial markets, macro events, industry trends, trading activity, and regulatory developments; connect them to the potential impact on portfolio risks.

Assist with scenario analysis, stress testing, cycle analysis, factor analysis, and performance attribution to provide insights on portfolio risks/returns, asset allocation, and sector allocation.

Leverage 3‑5 years of investment/risk management/quantitative modeling experience; graduate work may substitute for relevant experience.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills

Understanding of credit risk and fixed‑income securities; familiarity with interest‑rate, credit, and liquidity risk, duration, convexity, stress testing, and scenario analyses.

High level of quantitative aptitude and ability to learn relevant technical and reporting tools; analytical mindset critical for solving complex problems.

Excellent written and verbal communication, capable of presenting complex quantitative analysis to senior management and creating compelling presentations.

Job Description Summary Nationwide seeks a consultant able to develop risk‑analytics projects that solve business problems and deliver outcomes. The professional works consultatively with leaders and partners, translating quantitative analysis into actionable insights and ensuring governing modeling practices are upheld.

Reporting Relationships Reports to the Risk/Actuarial leader.

Education & Experience

Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, economics, statistics, mathematics or related field (required).

Graduate degree preferred; advanced degree highly desirable.

Seven or more years of financial risk modeling or actuarial experience preferred.

Progress toward FCAS, FSA, CQF, CFA or similar certification preferred.

Location & Schedule Location: Columbus, OH – One Nationwide Plaza, 43215. Must reside within 35 miles of the office. Work schedule: 3 days in office, 2 days remote. Position will be hired on a SuccessFlex basis.
