Responsibilities Leads and manages comprehensive and complex financial analysis programs, projects, and business processes to advise clinical departments within the College of Medicine (COM) and its clinical practice plan through OSUP. Programs include the annual budget process and long‑range financial plans. Helps departments and leaders to optimize financial results by preparing analytical reports and presentations for management and clinical staff.
Annual Budget Process:
Lead the annual budget process, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to develop, review, and manage budgets.
Work closely with department heads and executives to align financial plans with organizational goals.
Develop and communicate budget timelines and guidelines to stakeholders.
Facilitate end‑user training on budget tool(s).
Annual Long‑Range Financial Planning:
Lead the annual long‑range financial planning process.
Collaborate with intra‑company teams to ensure alignment of LRFP assumptions and outputs.
Engage subject matter experts (SMEs) to implement enhancements to financial model(s).
Identity Program Financial Reporting:
Oversee financial reporting related to identity programs.
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial results, including revenue, expenses, and program‑specific metrics.
Collaborate with data analysts to create dashboards and visualizations for program performance.
Represent OSUP Financial Services in identity program meetings and communicate program strategies to OSUP leadership.
Business Plans and Proforma Development:
Assist in developing comprehensive business plans for strategic initiatives and physician/provider recruitment.
Conduct financial modeling to assess the feasibility of proposed projects.
Evaluate potential risks and opportunities associated with new ventures.
Project Management and Financial Modeling:
Apply project management principles to finance‑related projects.
Develop and enhance financial models to support decision‑making.
Collaborate with IT teams to improve data infrastructure and automate financial processes.
Cost Accounting and Decision Support Models:
Assist with development of cost accounting model to allocate costs accurately across services.
Participate in decision support models that guide resource allocation, pricing strategies, and investment decisions.
Comparative Analytics and Benchmarking:
Facilitate comparative analyses against industry peers and best practices.
Benchmark key performance indicators (KPIs) related to financial performance, efficiency, and effectiveness.
Customer Feedback and Enhancements:
Proactively seek feedback from internal stakeholders and external customers.
Use feedback to enhance financial services, streamline processes, and improve user experience.
Collaborate with customer‑facing teams to address pain points and optimize financial interactions.
Financial Analysis and Reporting:
Prepare in‑depth financial analyses for programs, projects, and business plans.
Provide insights to senior leadership, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities.
Support decision‑making by presenting clear, data‑driven reports.
Additional:
Ability to perform functions using job‑related software and systems.
Travel to satellite locations and clinic sites may be necessary.
Attendance, promptness, professionalism, attention to detail, cooperativeness with co‑workers and supervisors, and politeness to customers, vendors, and patients.
Other duties or special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
6 years of relevant experience
Preferences
Advanced degree in business, analytics, or related degree
8-12 years of relevant experience
Experience in the healthcare industry
Experience with Epic revenue cycle functionality and reporting
Familiarity with academic medical centers
Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
Prior experience in project management tools and techniques
Prior training in and application of continuous improvement principles
Pay Range: USD $87,854.50 – USD $131,781.75 per year.
