About The Role The Senior Project Manager has expert knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems design and leads coordination and management of MEP disciplines throughout construction. The role includes communication, interpersonal, project‑management, and leadership skills, and actively mentors Project Managers. The Senior Project Manager is expected to proactively coordinate, communicate, and problem‑solve across disciplines.

Responsibilities

Remain onsite as required and participate in regularly planned and ad‑hoc site meetings.

Serve as the single point of contact for client, owner, consultants, design team, trade partners, and overall construction team.

Act as liaison with design engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, developers, and building operators.

Develop comprehensive project schedules covering engineering, coordination, installation, start‑up, testing, commissioning, and closeout.

Filter project document management systems for MEP‑specific information related to scope and cost control on behalf of the client.

Manage CM and/or subcontractor change‑order submissions.

Serve as the single point of contact for project communications through issue logs, document management apps, real‑time messaging tools, and collaboration spreadsheets.

Take ownership of real‑time field issues communicated in meetings or ad‑hoc discussions, arranging timely responses from responsible parties.

Regularly monitor the RFI log and proactively redirect queries to the rightful responder or expedite closure.

Assist the design team in maintaining schedules related to DOB, PAA filing drawings, and related forms.

Walk the site on an agreed basis, record deficiencies, and issue observation reports (including photos) for corrective action.

Assist in creating and maintaining a project commissioning activity milestone schedule, if applicable.

Manage scheduling of commissioning personnel and equipment completion documentation, as required.

Assist in scheduling open‑item punch‑list walkthroughs and corrective action processes.

Technical/Design

Demonstrate advanced proficiency in all MEP design principles.

Expertly navigate MEP drawings for base building/infrastructure and tenant build‑out projects.

Coordinate with internal and external resources to align design documents across trades.

Maintain superior knowledge of project timeline documentation and processes.

Review project documentation in a timely manner.

Qualifications

BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Architectural, Civil, or Construction Engineering (MS preferred).

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Engineer in a design firm, Construction Senior Field Engineer, Construction Project Manager, CM Procurement Agent, CM Cost Control/Estimating Manager, Owner Representative, or similar field.

Expert understanding of MEP systems, equipment rooms, shafts, risers, and POE rooms.

Experience in Commercial Office, Hospital, Higher Education, Residential Tower, or Multi‑use High‑rise construction.

Strong CM contract and subcontractor estimating review experience.

Knowledge of critical‑care MEP systems design and installation (preferred).

Proficiency in building codes, local laws, energy codes, NFPA and utility standards.

Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, NavisWorks, Bluebeam, MS Office, MS Project, SharePoint, Buzzsaw, Procore, BIM360, Fieldwire, PlanGrid, etc.

Technical writing skills required.

Minimum OSHA 30‑hour certification required or to be obtained upon hiring.

LEED, Wellness, Health‑Care Construction, and/or PMP certification a plus.

Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally may be required.

Estimated Compensation Range $100,000 – $115,000 yearly salary.
