Safety Manager – Underground Utility Construction

Phoenix, AZ Salary:
$95,000–$125,000 + strong benefits + 401(k) match
Our client is a leading underground utility contractor with a strong reputation for quality, safety, and teamwork. They’re looking for an experienced
Safety Manager
to join their Phoenix-area operations and help lead safety efforts across multiple construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and oversee company safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and local regulations.
Conduct regular job site audits, inspections, and safety meetings.
Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and documented.
Provide safety training and toolbox talks for field personnel and supervisors.
Partner closely with project managers, superintendents, and crews to foster a proactive safety culture.
Track and analyze safety metrics and trends to identify areas for improvement.
Maintain up-to-date safety records, reports, and documentation.
Serve as the primary contact for safety-related questions, concerns, and best practices.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in safety management within
construction , preferably
underground utilities, civil, or heavy infrastructure .
Solid knowledge of OSHA standards and safety practices specific to excavation, trenching, and confined space work.
Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence and train field teams.
OSHA 30, CHST, or other relevant safety certifications.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $95-125K base salary depending on experience
