PAY RATE:
$60/hr
Candidate Requirements
Competent with Teamcenter document managing and NX modeling (Component, Assemblies, Drawings)
High speed rotating machine design
Basic understanding of electrical concepts
Tolerance stack‑up analysis
Experience defining and interpreting GD&T
Must Have
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
5+ years of mechanical design engineering experience
5+ years of experience in mechanical design with NX design tool including modeling and drafting
Prior experience as a systems design lead
Must be a US citizen due to ITAR restrictions
We Value
Experience in high-speed rotating equipment design including electric motors, generators, turbomachinery, gear trains, and mechanical systems.
Proven application of ASME Y14.5 drawing standards including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
Experience in Conceptual Design, Preliminary Design and Detailed Design phases.
Ability to convey subtle or complex messages clearly, as appropriate for the topic and audience.
Individuals who are self‑motivated and able to work with little supervision, consistently taking the initiative to get things done before being asked or forced by events.
Ability to consistently make timely decisions even in the face of complexity, balancing systematic analysis with decisiveness.
Demonstrated leadership experience in coordinating and overseeing successful projects
The focus of this role is generator design which includes layout and design of the internal components and housings, and will also support gearbox design programs on occasion. The primary functions are to create 2D drawings and 3D CAD models using Siemens NX and Teamcenter. Experience with FEA and topological optimization tools is desired to ensure weight‑optimized designs. Interact closely with project engineers and design teams to meet project deliverables and milestones. Understand and adhere to Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing practices, act with speed and accuracy for on‑time execution, and apply Six Sigma thought processes and tools. Listen to internal customer’s needs and support the team in reducing cycle time and improving quality of deliverables.
