Field Service Technician II Work Location: Albany NY 12201

Hourly Pay Rate: $22

Work Schedule: Flexible scheduling, M-S (5 day work week) 8-5 Overtime and On-call between 5PM and 10PM rotating.

Duration: 10/13/2025 to 01/05/2026 - CONTRACT-TO-HIRE

We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused IT Field Technician to support restaurant technology systems, including point‑of‑sale (POS) systems, networking equipment, and other restaurant‑specific hardware and software. This role requires strong technical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Requirements

Top 2 required skills: Customer service, A+ and general contracting skills (drilling) with dispatch experience.

Reliable Transportation – local travel required.

Miles per day: 100 (Mileage re‑reimbursement).

Must be located within 30-40 minutes of Albany NY 12201.

Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, networking, and cable installation; experience with restaurant technologies.

Certifications: CompTIA A+ and Network+ (or 5+ years of relevant experience).

Physical Requirements: Able to lift up to 50 lbs and use a ladder (up to 10 ft reach); general contractor skills (drill usage, etc.) for light contractor work.

Other Requirements: Excellent customer service and communication skills, strong problem‑solving and organizational skills, professional appearance and demeanor, reliable transportation and valid driver’s license, must complete client‑specific training and pass certification exam.

Responsibilities

Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues; provide on‑site support for restaurant staff.

Installation & Maintenance: HW and SW install and configuration experience; perform quarterly preventative maintenance (some after‑hours required).

Networking & Cable Management: Terminate, test, and replace network cables (Cat5/Cat6/Cat7); organize and manage cable layouts for optimal performance.

Training & Documentation: Train restaurant staff on new systems; maintain accurate records of support requests and configurations.

Asset & Inventory Management: Track hardware, software licenses, and inventory levels; assist with rollout and upgrade projects.

Security & Infrastructure: Maintain secure and efficient network infrastructure; support online ordering and delivery platforms.
