Position Overview
River Valley Ingredients (RVI), part of Tyson Foods, is seeking a Maintenance Generalist to support our facilities and maintain equipment across the plant. The role involves troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and ensuring safety in a fast‑paced environment.
Background checks are required for certain roles at Tyson. Eligible candidates will receive additional documentation once an offer is extended.
Responsibilities
Perform routine preventive maintenance repairs.
Perform preventive maintenance.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic plant equipment.
Minimize downtime due to equipment failure.
Support production by addressing equipment problems during shifts.
Handle all mechanical problems that may arise.
Maintain a clean work area at all times.
Keep accurate record‑keeping and documentation.
Requirements
At least 1 year of industrial maintenance experience.
At least 6 months of experience with one employer in the past 2 years.
Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 20 pounds repeatedly and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
Ability to stand on a hard surface for up to 12 hours per day.
Repetitive bending, reaching, squatting, and gripping, including frequent overhead work.
Basic math skills (percentages, fractions, measurements).
Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) certification.
Willingness and ability to perform the physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation.
Schedule & Location
Shift: C (4 days on, 3 days off, 6 am–6 pm).
Location: RVI, Hanceville, Alabama.
No relocation assistance.
