The Machine Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and optimization of production machinery and equipment to ensure efficient and reliable operations. They will perform preventative maintenance tasks, troubleshoot equipment failures, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
Responsibilities
Preventative Maintenance:
Regular inspections and maintenance of production machinery are conducted according to established schedules.
Perform routine lubrication, cleaning, and adjustments to ensure optimal equipment performance.
Replace worn or damaged components to prevent equipment failures.
Troubleshooting and Repair:
Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions to identify root causes.
Repair or replace faulty components as needed.
Implement corrective actions to prevent the recurrence of equipment issues.
Equipment Optimization:
Identify opportunities for equipment improvement and efficiency gains.
Implement modifications or upgrades to enhance production capabilities.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
Ensure that equipment is operated and maintained in a safe manner.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.
Prepare reports on equipment condition and maintenance needs.
Emergency Response:
Respond to equipment breakdowns or emergencies in a timely manner.
Take appropriate steps to minimize downtime and ensure safe operations.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent qualification
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
Ability to read manuals, electrical and mechanical schematics, assembly instructions, and troubleshooting guides
Technical or vocational training in machine maintenance or a related field.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Experience with industrial machinery and equipment.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
