Responsibilities The Project Manager will act as the lead staff engineer or project manager for construction projects located throughout Upstate South Carolina. Key duties include:
Oversee inspections and testing of soils, reinforced concrete, masonry, modular retaining walls, asphalt placement, and structural steel.
Evaluate laboratory test data and provide engineering support to clients and contractors.
Assist with geotechnical projects such as soil boring layout, soil classification, and other geotechnical design parameters.
Generate project proposals, prepare cost estimates and budgets, and develop project deliverables.
Review project specifications, inspection requirements, and daily inspection reports; sign and deliver reports to clients in a timely manner.
Conduct site visits to review construction activities, inspect contractor work, and maintain relationships with contractors and owners.
Provide engineering support as required and collaborate effectively with project teams.
Qualifications
12 years of relevant experience in Construction Materials Testing.
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
Need to manage multiple ongoing projects, scheduling, and budget evaluation.
Clear communication skills and ability to work effectively with clients and staff.
Self‑motivated with strong time‑management and prioritization skills.
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
Knowledge of the Upstate South Carolina development and construction market is preferred.
