Overview At Hofstra University, intellectual curiosity is central to our student‑centered mission. The Department of Music invites applications for a part‑time, fall‑term position in Voice at the level of Adjunct Instructor beginning September 2025. The role supports a diverse undergraduate music program, including the growing Music Business track, in a coastal community near New York City.
Responsibilities
Teach studio voice lessons to both music majors and non‑music majors across professional and liberal arts degree programs.
Focus on contemporary and jazz styles, with an emphasis on Music Business program students.
Develop and deliver curriculum that promotes industry excellence and diverse musical genres, including jazz, American roots, contemporary, and commercial styles.
Maintain a robust performance presence and collaborate with students on contemporary global styles such as Afro‑beat, K‑pop, J‑pop, C‑pop, and Latin styles.
Qualifications
Master of Music (or equivalent professional experience) required.
Preferred Qualities
Experience teaching at the college or university level.
A strong professional portfolio with documented performance and teaching experience.
