Position Details The Lab Manager is an integral part of our Research and Development team based out of our US – Mendon, IL site. Compensation for this position ranges from $85,000.00 to $130,000.00.
Key Responsibilities
Laboratory Operations Management:
Plan, organize, and supervise day‑to‑day operations of the research laboratory; ensure alignment with research objectives and compliance with regulations.
Research Project Support:
Collaborate with farm and research teams to design and execute experiments, trials, and data collection protocols; monitor and document research progress.
Resource Management:
Manage budget allocation for the laboratory, including procurement of supplies, equipment, and resources; oversee inventory, maintenance, and repairs.
Staff Supervision and Training:
Recruit, train, and manage a team of laboratory technicians and interns; foster a positive work environment and provide guidance and mentorship.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations for handling and disposal of hazardous materials; develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Data Management and Reporting:
Maintain accurate, detailed records of laboratory operations, experiments, and results.
Innovation and Technology Integration:
Stay informed about the latest laboratory technologies and practices to enhance efficiency; implement innovative solutions to improve research outcomes.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Animal Science); Master’s degree preferred.
10+ years of laboratory experience.
Strong knowledge of laboratory methods, including cell culture and basic molecular biology techniques.
Experience with, or familiarity working in, a biosafety level 2 laboratory.
Proficiency in data collection and reporting using relevant software/tools.
Knowledge of safety protocols, compliance standards, and regulatory requirements.
Physical Requirements Operations of laboratory equipment; required to walk, use hands, talk or hear, stand, sit, bend frequently.
