Job Description

Salary: $24 DOE

SUMMARY The Electrical Designer Level II is responsible for creating designs for the electrical and engineering department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Know and have a thorough understanding of how signs are fabricated and installed.

Good understanding of materials, methods of construction, production, and installation.

Understands OD workflow and can design with production methods and cost savings in mind whilst meeting client requests.

Meet with other departments to minimize the number of errors or in-house discrepancies when submitting designs without a supervisor.

Produce concept designs based on client-supplied artwork, direction from sales account executives, and their own record.

Produce working drawings in a way that all details of the sign are made clear to the client, permitting, estimating department, production, and installation team.

Advanced Illustration skills in Illustrator and Photoshop to accurately show the finished sign.

Attend company and department meetings.

Demonstrate commitment to company's core values.

All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

OD Electrical Level I required or similar equivalent/ background.

Good understanding of electrical design.

Good math and measuring skills with various methods/tools

3D modeling capabilities, Solidworks or AutoCAD.

Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Exceptional time management and verbal/written communication skills.

Ability to handle high-volume workload promptly.

Strong attention to detail.

Ability to follow directions and is a quick learner.

Ability to communicate professionally.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business communication such as emails, letters, memos, notes. Ability to write business correspondence. Ability to verbally present information and respond to questions from Account Executives, managers/supervisors, clients, and colleagues.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
