Position Summary
Assistant Head of School for Academics at Lick‑Wilmerding High School. Primary academic leader, reports directly to the Head of School. Will begin July 1, 2026.
Base Pay Range $250,000.00/yr – $280,000.00/yr
Key Responsibilities
Lead and align the school’s academic program and curriculum to integrate mission and public purpose across all departments.
Serve as a trusted strategic thought partner to the Head of School and senior leadership team, reinforcing key decisions with clarity.
Chair the Teaching, Learning & Leadership Team and guide the School Life Team to promote continuity, coherence, and curricular alignment.
Collaborate with the Dean of Faculty Development and Culture to align hiring, professional development and faculty review processes with strategic priorities.
Supervise and coordinate academic and student‑support functions including library, college counseling, learning services, and student support.
Ensure programs reflect student wellness, belonging, and mission alignment.
Report directly to the Head of School and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field; graduate degree highly preferred.
7+ years of progressive educational leadership experience.
Demonstrated commitment to mission‑driven education.
Experience as a school administrator guiding, coaching, leading, and supervising faculty.
Proven success leading academic initiatives and programs.
Skilled in leading complex, ongoing, and consensus‑building change management initiatives in schools.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated track record of leading cross‑functional teams and committees.
Professional Qualities
Relational leadership, building clarity and accountability with passionate faculty.
Collaborative style, interpersonal awareness, building trust across constituencies.
Deep understanding of contemporary research and professional growth programs in independent school teaching and learning.
Commitment to foster diversity and equity; skill to partner on this work.
