Internal Audit Department (IAD) of The Charles Schwab Corporation provides independent and objective assessments to evaluate risks, controls, and governance processes across our banking and trust services. The Bank Internal Audit team is focused on executing audits that target governance, risk management, internal controls, and regulatory compliance. What You’ll Do

Participate in the planning and execution of internal audit assignments, ensuring work aligns with IIA standards and IAD policies. Schedule and attend audit meetings, contribute to scoping discussions, draft deliverables, design and execute testing, and review work papers. Track audit status, issue status, and budgets to support team operations. Identify audit observations based on testing results and collaborate with the Internal Audit Manager/Senior Manager for debriefing with partners. Validate and test audit issue action plans completed by business units. Participate in the annual Risk Assessment process, including scoring and documenting risk ratings. Provide coaching, mentoring, and feedback to audit team members and assist with onboarding new staff. Complete firm‑wide and departmental administration and training requirements. Assist with special projects related to business operational improvement or internal team needs. What you have

3‑5+ years of financial services internal audit experience, preferably with banking and/or trust functions or Big 4 accounting/regulatory experience. Demonstrated experience performing internal audits in a sophisticated operational and regulatory environment. Ability to work as part of a project team and maintain strong relationships with external co‑sourcing providers and internal business lines. CPA, CIA, or CISA strongly preferred (other relevant certifications considered). Deep understanding of risks, internal controls, and the ability to evaluate the adequacy and efficiency of controls. Up‑to‑date knowledge of industry and regulatory issues and standard methodologies, with the ability to share this knowledge. Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and solution‑crafting skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to articulate authoritatively. Bachelor’s degree required. Occasional travel. What’s in it for you
