Job Description American Traveler is seeking a Mammography Technologist with 3-4 years of mammography experience and ARRT and BLS certifications for a travel assignment in an acute care setting.
Responsibilities Work in an acute care radiology department specializing in breast imaging Perform both screening and diagnostic mammography, including standard screenings, imaging for implant patients, and procedures using a Hologic prone biopsy table with Bravera biopsy device Department utilizes Hologic equipment for screening and diagnostic imaging Average diagnostic caseload is 14 scans per day with screening caseload ranging from 18-25 per shift Uses Epic EMR and Change PACS 4x10 hour variable day shifts with start times between 7:00 AM and 10:00 AM; some 8-hour diagnostic shifts may occur No weekend, holiday, call, or standby requirements Floating between screening and diagnostic mammography required 2-3 unit-specific orientation shifts in addition to general orientation Responsibilities include performing screening and diagnostic breast imaging, 4D mammograms, and supporting patients with special needs Lead technologist support is available but may not always be onsite Screens are batch-read by radiologists with image review and reporting handled after No IV starts required Professional, clean scrubs of any color may be worn No blocked scheduling or special requests for schedule Permanent employees of the facility must be separated for at least one year before applying for travel assignments A 50-mile radius rule applies; local candidates within 50 miles are not eligible
Requirements Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in mammography Must have completed at least 1-2 travel contracts Active ARRT certification with Mammography specialty required Current BLS certification required Experience with Hologic equipment and Epic EMR preferred Must provide two professional references: one supervisor reference from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from the last 3 years Copy of active driver’s license required Active state license at time of consideration required if applicable
