Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a wide range of recipes, ensuring high-quality and consistent results

Follow established recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards

Collaborate with the culinary team to plan and execute menus for various outlets

Assist in monitoring inventory levels and ensure proper storage and rotation of food items

Maintain a clean and organized work station, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines

Assist in the development and implementation of new menu items and culinary concepts

Contribute to maintaining a positive and respectful work environment

Uphold the Fairmont brand standards of quality and excellence

Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance culinary skills and knowledge

Assist in other areas of the kitchen or hotel operations as needed

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of pastry cooking experience preferred

Understands Baker's Percentage

Strong knowledge of mixing techniques for sponges, mousses, etc.

Strong knowledge of icing cakes

Able to work in a high-pressure environment

Valid Food Handler Certificate required

Experience in a luxury hotel with comparable service and standards an asset

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a team player

Diploma/Certification in a culinary discipline an asset

Must hold valid authorization to work in the USA

Physical Requirements Include

Constant standing and walking throughout shift

Frequent lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs

Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting

Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
