Assistant Research Professor, Center of Innovation, Technology and Aging
Location: 4202 East Fowler Avenue, Tampa, FL 33620, US
Position Summary: The Center of Innovation, Technology and Aging (CITA) and the Bellini College of AI, Cybersecurity and Computing (CAICC) are jointly seeking a non‑tenure earning Assistant Research Professor. The candidate will develop research that aligns with CITA’s vision and teach computer science undergraduate and graduate courses. Full‑time, renewable up to two years. Expected teaching load: two courses per academic year (some in candidate’s research area). Start as early as summer 2025.
Application requirements: Cover letter, CV, statement of research and teaching experience and goals, and three references. Submit all as a single PDF file.
Minimum Qualifications
Doctoral degree in computer science or related field from an accredited institution.
Demonstrated record of academic research in line with position requirements.
Must meet University of South Florida criteria for appointment equivalent to Assistant Professor.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong research record with multiple publications in high‑impact venues.
Experience leading and collaborating on aging‑related multidisciplinary research and grant proposal development with faculty from CITA and CAICC.
Expertise in AI/ML, robotics, human‑computer interaction (HCI) and related fields to develop innovative biomarkers, condition‑monitoring methods, assistance technologies and intervention approaches.
Other Information This position is funded by non‑recurring funds and is conditioned upon the continuation of those funds. It may be subject to a Level 1 or Level 2 criminal background check.
