Overview
Under general supervision, operates one of a variety of heavy and special motor equipment of five (5) tons or over. Makes minor adjustments to equipment and, when not driving, does related work as required.

Operates a derrick truck, tractor, bulldozer, sander, plow, etc.
Makes minor adjustments to equipment.
Minimum Entrance Qualifications
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of experience as a Heavy Motor Equipment Operator.
Must have and maintain a valid Massachusetts commercial driver's license.
Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.
Ability to operate a derrick truck, tractor, bulldozer, sander, plow, etc.
Ability to make minor adjustments to equipment.
Must be able to work any assigned shift in any assigned area.
Knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to implement them while operating machinery.
Pre-employment physical and drug tests are required.
Qualifications Acquired On The Job
Gain knowledge in operating heavy machinery such as tractors, skid steers, and backhoes specifically for park maintenance tasks.
Ability to adjust to different park environments and varying project requirements.
Terms Union/Salary Plan/Grade: AFSCME/RA1-13 Hours per week: 40
