Job Description
Hawaiian Building Maintenance (HBM) – Full‑Time Maintenance Technician HBM is looking for a highly motivated, reliable, and trustworthy individual. The ideal candidate should excel in customer service and have a keen eye for detail, as the role involves repairing and maintaining a commercial building in Kakaako Oahu. Candidates should possess a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle for work. They must also pass a background check. Previous experience as a maintenance technician or in a related field is required. We warmly welcome enthusiastic applicants!
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs: plumbing, electrical, mechanical and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), painting, drywall, and grounds maintenance
Excellent customer service skills to interact with property managers, vendors, customers, etc.
Able to lift, push, pull a minimum of 50lbs up to 75lbs, walk, bend, stretch during shift
Ensure mechanical equipment and systems are working in order and fixed as necessary
Create and maintain work orders
Create and maintain purchase orders
Perform any additional maintenance related duties as required by HBM supervisor/property management
Skills / Qualifications
High school diploma/GED
Must have a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle
Must pass background check
Ability to work a flexible schedule
General preventative maintenance experience is required
Troubleshooting abilities
Mechanical aptitude
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English
Good public relations skills and communication
Customer service oriented
Strong organizational skills
Must perform basic manual labor, clean common areas, frequently lift, push, pull, carry a minimum of 30lbs (up to 50lbs), be able to reach overhead, grasp objects, bend, kneel, crawl, squat, climb, stretch, walk, walk up and down a stairway, climb up/down a ladder and stand throughout the shift
Willingness to learn and improve
Schedule Monday‑Friday: 7:30 am to 4 pm
Must have open availability, subjective to emergencies: after hours, weekends and holidays
Compensation $24.00 – $26.00 per hour
