The Opportunity
CACI is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Orlando, FL. This is part of our Optical and Photonics Systems Division, where we specialize in the design, development, and manufacturing of complex, state‑of‑the‑art communications systems for military, space, and commercial applications.
Responsibilities
Lead fabrication process development, documentation, ECOs, process training and maintain production yield, quality and cleanliness.
Interface with design engineers to ensure hard‑ware producibility and develop build strategies.
Drive cost reduction and commit the best process control to make top quality products for customers.
Direct support personnel in the day‑to‑day execution of the manufacturing tasks.
Actively think and act independently to propose or translate ideas and new concepts into tangible process results.
Plan and support the build and modification of electronic systems including procurement support, assembly method/work instructions generation, tooling design support, material/process development, facilities/equipment planning, and resolution of manufacturing, quality and reliability issues.
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in ME, EE or OE and a minimum of 3 years or an Associate’s Degree and a minimum of 5 years or equivalent combination of education and experience in Optics Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a similar industrial field.
Knowledge of process control, cleanroom operation protocol, and process control for complex opto‑mechanical and electro‑optical assembly.
Proven technical acumen in the manufacture, test and integration of complex product technologies and systems for DoD or Space.
Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
Excellent communication and ability to work well in a team environment with people at all levels.
Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance.
Desired
Knowledge of MIL/IPC workmanship and performance standards related to electronic assemblies (IPC‑610, IPC‑620, MIL‑STD‑810, MIL‑STD‑883, NASA Spec).
Manufacturing Execution System experience.
