Job Description:
Seeking experienced Senior Electrical Engineers to lead the electrical, electronics, and hardware design, development, and integration of advanced electronic subsystems for U.S. military ground vehicles. This position requires deep technical knowledge in vetronics, embedded systems, and rigorous testing to meet Department of Defense (DoD) standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and integrate ruggedized electronic subsystems for military platforms, including targeting/sighting systems, high voltage/high power, and electrical harnesses.
Support field testing, platform integration, and system‑level verification across multiple DoD programs.
Perform schematic capture, circuit simulation, and PCB layout using Altium Designer, OrCAD, and SPICE.
Design analog, digital, and mixed‑signal circuits for high‑reliability, mission‑critical applications.
Develop embedded systems with microcontrollers (e.g., PIC, HC12) and DC‑DC power conversion circuits.
Implement and troubleshoot military communication protocols (CAN Bus, RS‑422/485).
Conduct environmental and qualification testing to military standards such as DO‑160, MIL‑STD‑810, and MIL‑STD‑461.
Support hardware/software integration, FMECA analysis, and qualification testing in a system integration lab environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred).
8+ years of experience in defense or aerospace electrical engineering.
Proven experience designing and testing electronics for military ground vehicles.
Proficient in analog/digital/mixed‑signal circuit design, embedded systems (PIC, HC12), PCB tools (Altium, OrCAD, SPICE), and communication protocols (CAN Bus, RS‑422/485, MIL‑STD‑1553).
Hands‑on experience with hardware/software integration, system verification, and environmental testing to DO‑160, MIL‑STD‑810, and MIL‑STD‑461 standards; eligible for Secret Clearance.
Key Skills:
BS degree Electrical Engineering, DOD background, Electronics and Hardware design, power distribution and/or power generation experience.
Not interested in candidates that just have automotive background.
Working Knowledge of:
Digital, analog, low/high‑voltage power, computing bus architecture and RF (radios, GPS, …).
Mechatronics, electrical hardware, vetronics, electrical harnesses, routing and distribution, and electrical vehicle engineering and integration principles.
