The Opportunity In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Work directly with the project team to generate engineering design documents and deliverables for systems and components related to the substation and renewable energy SCADA systems.
Provide oversight and lead engineering work, as well as teach other engineers fundamental SCADA concepts.
Coordinate SCADA Project work for timely execution.
Provide client’s recommended solutions based on standards, best practices and industry trends.
Develop control system network architecture diagrams, datalink points list, control narratives, control logic diagrams, protection and control drawings, and procurement specifications for SCADA equipment.
Provide remote support to the field construction team on how to troubleshoot and fix issues.
Perform quality assurance checks, man‑hour estimates, factory acceptance testing, cyber security auditing, and commissioning support at sites or remotely.
Develop standards and specify equipment part numbers for project work and for project proposals.

Preferred Qualifications
Substation and renewable energy (wind, solar, battery energy storage) experience preferred.
Experience with IEC 61850, Modbus, OPC UA, and other control system protocols over TCP/IP or serial.
Experience with VMware, FactoryTalk ME/SE, Ignition, AVEVA HMI software, Cloud View, Subnet Solutions, FactoryStudio, CIMPLICITY or other virtual/HMI software platforms.
Experience with protective relays, substation and renewable energy automation systems.
Experience with SEL RTAC and IED architecture design and configuration.
Experience with Allen Brady ControlLogix PLC configuration.
Experience with NERC‑CIP cyber security standards.
Experience with IEEE 1547 inverters controlled as a system.
Experience with OT single‑mode fiber optic network design.
Network troubleshooting skills and experience with network analysis tools such as Wireshark, Modbus Poll, etc.
Experience with Excel macros and VBA language.
Minimum Qualifications Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program in your country of practice or the country where the professional is practicing. Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
Certifications Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred.
Work Environment and Schedule
Typical office environment; prolonged periods of sitting and computer use; ability to maintain focus and attention to detail throughout the workday.
Physical tasks during site visits, including crouching, grasping, and standing/walking for extended periods.
Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days based on manager discretion, job performance and assignments.
The SCADA team is located primarily in Overland Park, Kansas; Atlanta, Georgia; and Houston, Texas; candidates near any of our offices will be considered.
