Location: Phoenix, AZ.
Responsibilities
Lead and provide support for conceptual and detailed design of renewable systems, specifically solar and battery energy storage.
Support design review of electrical, civil, structural plans, specifications, calculations, and studies.
Review testing, commissioning plans and QA/QC documentation.
Conduct site visits and inspections, and hold face‑to‑face meetings with clients and industry partners as necessary.
Assist in pricing and bidding of renewable energy projects, perform quantity take‑offs as needed, and review milestone documents for pricing of value‑alternatives.
Communicate with engineers, suppliers and consultants to clarify scope, materials and schedule requirements.
Participate in the internal estimate review process and assist with final assembly of estimates for client presentation.
Collect and organize all bid information for future reference.
Develop subcontracts and purchase orders for major equipment.
Lead efforts to solicit proposals from subcontractors and vendors for project estimation.
Champion standardization by identifying and documenting best practices.
Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors, vendors and internal clients, attend industry events and represent McCarthy in the community.
Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field (required).
General knowledge of construction principles and processes.
Strong mathematics and analytical skills with attention to detail.
Solid interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrate behaviors consistent with McCarthy core values while maintaining a value‑added approach to estimating.
