We are seeking a
hands-on Payroll Manager
to oversee all aspects of payroll operations for approximately
400 employees
across multiple states. The ideal candidate has prior
public company or financial services experience , a strong understanding of
SOX controls , and expertise in
stock-based compensation
and
RSUs . This individual will ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, manage payroll tax reporting, and partner closely with HR and Accounting to deliver accurate, timely payroll processing.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee
full-cycle payroll processing
for 400+ employees across
CA, NY, NJ, HI, and NV .
Maintain compliance with
federal, state, and local payroll laws , including garnishments, deductions, and multi-state regulations.
Ensure accuracy in
RSU, ESPP, and stock-based compensation
processing and reporting.
Conduct
monthly audits
and support
SOX compliance
requirements for payroll-related controls.
Collaborate with HR and Finance on payroll reconciliations, journal entries, and tax filings.
Manage payroll system configurations, upgrades, and integrations within
ADP Workforce Now (WFN) .
Provide analytical support and reporting using
Microsoft Excel
and ADP tools.
Partner with internal and external auditors during quarterly and year-end reviews.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
credential
highly preferred .
5+ years
of full-cycle, multi-state payroll experience in a
publicly traded or banking/financial services organization .
Experience with
ADP WFN
and advanced
Excel
skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
Knowledge of
SOX compliance , payroll accounting, garnishments, and stock-based compensation.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and accuracy in a fast-paced, high-integrity environment.
