OVERVIEW Certified Medical Laboratory Technicians (CLT) will provide diagnostic testing services to The Central Texas Veterans Healthcare System in Temple, Texas.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
Associates in Applied Science Degree (2 years)
Minimum two (2) years of laboratory experience
ASCP or AMT certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician/CLT
COMPENSATION $27.72 per hour plus an additional $4.57 per hour for Health & Welfare.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Use independent technical judgment to analyze and interpret laboratory results.
Perform, evaluate, interpret, correlate, and validate the accuracy of laboratory procedures and results.
Monitor quality control systems and measures.
Interpret and apply complex written instructions.
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair laboratory instrumentation.
Resolve laboratory problems and communicate findings to the healthcare team.
Interact with external relations, customer service, and patient education.
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
Perform advanced and complex laboratory procedures
Identify deviations from expected results and correct problems using scientific principles.
Manage collection and processing of biological specimens.
Maintain equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot malfunctions.
Document quality control and assurance activities and corrective actions.
Address test result inquiries and suggest follow‑up tests.
Meet productivity and quality standards set by the Chief, P&LMS.
Other duties as assigned.
