Job Summary The Sr. Data Intelligence Specialist role sits in out our Termset Management, Operations Department and is expected to be a subject matter expert on all aspects of contract implementation within Foodbuy’s proprietary contract tracking system, “Supply Chain”. The Procurement Specialist will have varying forms of direct process ownership including our more financially challenging and risky tasks: high ROI commodity suppliers, system overlap resolution, financial quality control and reporting. This role has significant autonomy to innovate and develop solutions to a wide range of team and departmental challenges. It is highly analytical in nature and a successful candidate will be organized and detail oriented with proven experience utilizing Excel. Ideal candidates will have experience with Excel VBA Macro’s.

Responsibilities

High powered use of Excel to:

Perform contracting gap analyses (audits and reconciliations) against master contract data vs termset standards

Calculate historical VA owed by calculating rates per period and applying to transactional data

Find the “needle in the haystack” to solve root cause for Termset Overlaps

Generate results for complex ad hoc analysis requests

Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, metric conversions, area, and volume

Compile and present data summaries in a clean and concise manner

Run point for multiple “central owner/bulk” managed processes

Daily application of algebra and basic calculus concepts

Process high volumes of data requests accurately and ahead of very strict deadlines

Remain flexible and adapt as needed to unforeseen technology challenges

Act as team SME and support analysts with problem solving activities before they are escalated to management

Act as backup for the Pricing Analyst to support the weekly Price Release processes

Utilize, edit, create intelligent spreadsheets that reduce human touchpoints across routine tasks

Utilize Excel VBA to create/edit/maintain Macros as needed

Strong desire to self-teach new technical skills not limited to SQL, PowerBI, PowerQuery, PowerAutomate, etc.

Train new analysts on all Termset Management concepts and best practices

Absorb functionality to cover for associate turnover

Regularly pull tangible and intangible data pieces together to draw conclusions and provide recommendations for solutions where limited standardization and multiple variables exist

Maintain training and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documents.

Deliver results against annually provided SMART KPI’s.

Requirements

High proficiency with entire MS Office Suite including advanced Outlook and Excel (Lookups, Pivot Tables, Intelligent Formulas).

Ability to write/understand Nested If Statements to remove human decision making from spreadsheets

MS Teams, Zoom, or other video conferencing tools.

Ability to read/edit/write Excel VBA to maintain and modify Excel Macro’s. (Experience with PowerBI/SQL/PowerAutomate will be accepted in lieu of VBA).

Experience manipulating and analyzing datasets of at least 50,000 rows up to 100,000 rows in size.

Prior experience working smarter, not harder, delivering improvements on daily/weekly/monthly processes.

Knowledge of Supply Chain (or other system-based data management technology) preferred.

Qualities of Preferred Candidate

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree.

2+ years working with large amounts of data, managing complex processes, and process reengineering within a fast-paced technology driven environment.

Prior experience utilizing Excel Formulas to automate repetitive tasks

Ability to manage conflicting priorities while meeting all required deadlines.

Innovative mindset with the ability to implement solutions to process inefficiencies or complex ad hoc problems.

Strong collaborator and communicator (via email, phone, video conferencing), able to work cross-functionally to solve problems.

Forward thinking with the ability and confidence to challenge the status quo.

Self-driven and able to produce results with minimal supervision.

Ability to work effectively on an individual basis and collaboratively as part of a team
