Job Description:
The Senior Aircraft Structural Stress Engineer will be responsible for performing stress analysis on primary and secondary aircraft structures, supporting new designs, providing stress support to liaison engineering, and preparing detailed stress analysis reports for certification purposes.
The role requires expertise in both classical and finite element analysis methods, with strong experience in aircraft structural analysis and certification requirements.
Responsibilities
Perform stress analysis of primary and secondary aircraft structures.
Provide stress support for new design and modification projects.
Support liaison engineering with structural evaluations and guidance.
Prepare and review detailed stress analysis reports for aircraft certification.
Utilize finite element analysis tools (MSC/NASTRAN and PATRAN) for structural assessments.
Conduct analysis of aircraft structural repairs and ensure compliance with applicable standards.
Use Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation and reporting.
Requirement/Must Have
Proficiency in Classical Stress Analysis.
Strong experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using MSC/NASTRAN and PATRAN.
Experience in aircraft structural repair analysis.
Ability to prepare comprehensive stress reports for aircraft certification.
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Experience in creating and post-processing composite structural FEMs using Siemens Femap.
Proficiency in composite structural analysis.
Desired Skills
Experience in Fatigue and Damage Tolerance Analysis.
Knowledge of commercial and military aircraft certification requirements.
Ability to train and mentor less experienced engineers.
Qualification and Education
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent field of study.
Experience
Minimum 18 years of aircraft structural analysis experience.
Experience in modification of transport category and general aviation aircraft is beneficial.
Preferred: At least 1 year of previous experience with the client.
