Job Overview
Eurofins Environment Testing Northwest in Bend, OR is seeking a Lab Analyst I to join our team.
Responsibilities
Set up and analyze microbiology samples including potable water, non‑potable water and soil
Set up and analyze inorganic potable and non‑potable water samples
Understand and interpret the Oregon Health Authority rules and regulations
Assist clients in person, through email, and over phone with their various needs
Receive, log and process samples from clients
Maintain all aspects of laboratory in clean and excellent working order
Maintain laboratory supply inventory including performing quality control checks and preparing Certificates of Analysis
Plan and prepare media for compliance and environmental analysis
Plan and perform monthly environmental monitoring
Maintain laboratory filing system
Document all aspects of laboratory functions in logbooks and computer systems
Perform proficiency testing for Oregon’s Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program
Assist manager with tasks, performing them independently, as needed
Assist in sampling and sample collection route as needed
Send out client reports and invoices, as needed
Ability to analyze samples on weekends, as needed
Skills and Qualifications
Aseptic technique
Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Excellent customer service
Superior time management skills
Excellent documentation, computer and organization skills
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, biology, or equivalent; required
Two or more years of bench‑top laboratory experience – a plus
Minimum of two weeks training at an academic institution in microbiological analysis of drinking water or 80 hours on‑the‑job training
Additional Information This role will be a full‑time role, Monday to Friday starting at 8 am to 5 pm with overtime and weekends as needed.
Compensation Range: $20‑25 / hour (DOE)
Candidates within a commutable distance to Bend, OR are encouraged to apply.
