Position Summary
Under the general supervision of the Director/Manager of Pharmacy Services, the night shift clinical staff pharmacist assures prompt and accurate delivery of medication to patients in the CommonSpirit Healthcare Emergency Room. Responsibilities include reviewing and processing physician orders, providing drug information to healthcare professionals and patients, monitoring drug therapy, intervening when necessary, completing administrative duties delegated by pharmacy leadership, and performing duties of the Pharmacy Management Team during absences.
The scope of services provided includes accurate order entry, allergy information access, clinical interventions, medication dosing, renal dosing, hyperalimentation preparation, and medication counseling. Patient populations served include skilled nursing, psychiatry, substance abuse, and rehabilitation teams.
Responsibilities
Review physician orders and patient medication profiles, process and check orders.
Provide drug information to healthcare professionals and patients.
Monitor drug therapy and intervene as necessary.
Complete administrative duties delegated by Pharmacy Services leadership.
Perform Pharmacy Management Team duties during absences.
Accurately perform order entry, allergy information access, clinical interventions, medication dosing, renal dosing, hyperalimentation preparation, and medication counseling.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of knowledge and experience with unit dose drug distribution and intravenous admixture systems.
Graduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy.
Professional licensure by the Nevada State Board of Pharmacy.
Must obtain CPRBLS Basic Life Support certification within 6 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience providing drug information, pharmacotherapeutics, total parenteral nutrition, and drug literature evaluation.
CT CPRACLS Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification.
BCPS certification.
Pay Range $54.76 – $81.45 per hour.
