Key Responsibilities As an Audit Senior Associate, you’ll play an essential role in executing and managing audit engagements. You’ll also work closely with members of the firm’s leadership team to deliver timely, impactful results to clients. Responsibilities include:
Act in-charge and/or assist on audit, review, and compilation engagements, including reviewing workpapers, preparing financial statements, and providing feedback to team members.
Prepare projections, conduct research as needed, and complete other complex accounting special projects.
Manage engagements to meet deadlines, anticipate roadblocks, and ensure deliverables align with client service expectations.
Understand and analyze the client’s business and industry, including competitors, trends, and key customers, to anticipate and resolve issues.
Delegate tasks based on risk, engagement needs, and opportunities for staff growth while helping junior staff advance to the next level.
Promote Olsen Thielen’s service offerings to clients and identify opportunities for growth in business relationships.
Meet professional productivity and efficiency standards, including billable hours.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field such as Finance, Business, or Economics.
Minimum 2+ years of accounting experience in audit or public accounting.
Active CPA certification preferred but not required.
Strong knowledge of accounting standards and proficiency in audit tools such as cloud‑based audit software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Leadership skills: Experience coaching, mentoring, and providing direction to staff is preferred but not required.
Communication skills: Excellent oral and written communication to deliver ideas clearly and work effectively with clients and peers.

At our firm, we’re looking for candidates who are fully authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future sponsorship.
Olsen Thielen offers a competitive compensation and benefits package designed to reward performance and recognize your value to the firm. The starting salary range for this role is $70,000 to $90,000, based on factors like experience, qualifications, and organizational needs. Compensation also includes a bonus structure and eligibility for a discretionary annual incentive program. Our comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, paid time off, holidays, 401(k) with employer contributions, profit sharing, and more.
