Intensive Care Unit - ICU RN - Travel Nurse
Immediate travel nurse opening in Loma Linda, CA. The right nurse should have 1‑2 years recent acute care experience.
As an ICU Travel Nurse, you will be responsible for evaluating and monitoring patients in an intensive care unit setting. You will provide direct care to patients in life‑threatening situations, document and provide physician‑directed care, assess and implement patient care plans, and delegate to other care providers as appropriate. You will also provide education and support to patient families.
Key responsibilities include:
Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication, and report any adverse reactions to treatment.
Order and evaluate diagnostic tests.
Take samples for lab work, order corresponding lab work, and interpret reports.
Monitor and adjust specialized equipment and interpret electronic displays.
Ensure proper placement and functioning of catheters, leads, and tubing.
Communicate patients’ conditions to family members.
Physical requirements: Able to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty. Lifting up to 20 pounds routinely, and up to 50 pounds when required.
Handling exposure to chemicals or infectious diseases; dealing with confused, agitated, or uncooperative patients may be required.
Requirements
BLS, ACLS, NIH certification
Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience
Additional certifications may be required before assignment
