Role Overview The Laboratory Technician I is a full‑time, entry‑level position that supports laboratory operations through general maintenance of laboratory and supply storage areas, equipment, instruments, and supplies. This role requires compliance with Eurofins Quality Assurance programs and SOPs and supports a variety of analytical activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Receive samples from processing, accept deliveries, and assist in unloading shipments from delivery trucks.

Open coolers, inspect contents, and verify documentation to ensure samples are accounted for.

Distribute samples to appropriate departments, store, restock, and shelve as needed.

Maintain a clean and organized work area and enter records into the LIMS system.

Demonstrate and promote the company vision; ensure regular attendance and punctuality.

Apply GMP/GLP principles in all tasks and perform routine lab tasks for method, practice, and program familiarity.

Retrieve samples from Sample Control for analysis, prepare samples using standard techniques, perform chemical analyses, calculate data, and report results or anomalies to the supervisor.

Conduct routine instrument maintenance and comply with Eurofins environmental, health, safety, and quality assurance standards.

Perform general housekeeping and maintain a safe work environment.

Be open to training on complex instrumentation, including GC, GC/MS, ICP, atomic absorption, and instrument‑specific data systems.

Weigh and aliquot samples, wash glassware, and assist with other laboratory areas as needed.

Lab Technician Specific Tasks

Perform microbiology analysis using Idexx methods, handling and processing samples aseptically.

Prepare reagents, media, dilutions, and record incubation times.

Resolve discrepancies and anomalies to ensure proper labeling and tracking of samples.

Maintain laboratory paperwork, including sequencing results, bench sheets, and logbooks.

Washes laboratory glassware, stocks supplies, and conduct activities safely and efficiently.

Perform other duties as assigned and assist other laboratory areas as needed.

Qualifications

Strong organizational skills and close attention to detail.

Physical strength to lift and move heavy boxes.

Competency in using LIMS software.

Excellent reading, writing, and speaking skills in English.

Problem‑solving, team participation, and time‑management abilities.

Ability to use calculator/mathematical formulas and concepts.

Independent work following written or verbal instructions.

Cooperation and coordination in both oral and written communication.

Education / Experience

High school diploma required.

High‑school chemistry coursework and basic laboratory experience.

Previous production‑oriented work with awareness of deadlines.

Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

Professional working proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; samples may be kept in coolers packed in ice.

Additional duties as assigned.
