A leading general contractor specializing in water and wastewater infrastructure is seeking a
Project Engineer
to support a major water treatment plant construction project in
Johnstown, Colorado .
This role offers a unique opportunity to grow your technical and leadership skills while working alongside experienced engineers, construction managers, and subcontractors on large-scale municipal projects. Key Responsibilities
Interpret construction drawings, plans, and technical specifications.
Support field layout, measurements, and control lines/levels.
Monitor contractor activities for compliance with project standards.
Coordinate material deliveries and subcontractor installations.
Conduct site inspections and maintain detailed field reports.
Manage document control: RFIs, submittals, as-builts, and correspondence.
Track quantities and labor productivity.
Prepare progress reports and assist with change orders and claims.
Enforce safety protocols and participate in audits and toolbox talks.
Collaborate with design teams to resolve technical issues.
Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Construction Management.
2–4 years of experience on construction sites, ideally in water/wastewater projects.
Familiarity with construction methods, drawings, and standards.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and SharePoint.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and within a team on active construction sites.
Preferred
Experience with public infrastructure or utility projects.
Exposure to QA/QC processes and schedule monitoring.
Knowledge of OSHA or CAL/OSHA safety standards.
Interest in advancing into senior engineering or site leadership roles.
