Position Purpose and Summary
The Assistant General Manager ("AGM") assists the General Manager ("GM") or Multi‑Unit General Manager ("MUGM") in managing day‑to‑day hotel operations, ensuring optimum performance and continual improvement in guest and associate satisfaction. The AGM is hands‑on in managing hourly staff—scheduling, directing, overseeing daily activities and training—and provides leadership to promote an exceptional workplace. Safety and security procedures must be upheld in accordance with company guidelines. Major / Key Job Duties
Demonstrate and promote 100% commitment to providing the best possible experience for our guests. Become trained in all managerial functions and operations at the hotel level. Ensure all associates are onboarded, trained and complete essential training on time. Promote compliance with company policies and procedures, including reporting all safety & security issues. Uphold and drive compliance with policies, rules and standards at the property level. Drive initiatives that increase revenue, lower costs and improve guest and associate satisfaction. Serve as first‑level management contact for guest service issues, resolving them promptly and escalating to GM/MUGM when needed. Demonstrate professionalism and embrace ESA’s service culture, treating guests and associates with respect and kindness. Interact daily with guests to identify quality leads and assist with future travel needs. Assist in maximizing revenues and flow to meet or exceed budgeted EBITDA. Other Duties
Assist the GM/MUGM with interviewing, onboarding and training new associates. Spearhead positive team environment through teamwork, energy and recognition. Lead daily team meetings and foster continuous improvement. Assist in budgetary control: labor monitoring, scheduling, room expense control and maintaining production (PAR) levels via daily visual management. Ensure associates have the tools to execute their jobs. Act as manager on duty in absence of GM/MUGM. Inspect guest rooms, complete guest‑ready visual inspections, and assign daily arrival reservations. Provide relief/back‑up duties: front desk coverage, housekeeping and other needed operational support. Manage the purchase order process and inventory. Assist GM/MUGM in cash management and direct bill receivables compliance. Support hotel sales activities (e.g., SoAR leads) and monitor social media responses. Prioritize clean rooms and guest/associate satisfaction. Benefits

Strong written and verbal communication in English. Experience operating property management system technology and producing reports. Basic math skills for measurements and unit conversions. Ability to interpret and follow detailed written or oral instructions. Supervisory skills to oversee daily activities of 8–15 hourly staff. Organization of multiple priorities to maintain peak operational efficiency. Environmental Job Requirements
Remain stationary, navigate hotel and parking lot, handle tools and objects, and detect scents and sounds. Occasionally bend, kneel, crouch, push, pull or lift up to 25 lbs. Work in varying weather conditions, including wet, humid, and near moving mechanical parts. Work in moderate to loud noise levels. Travel to additional locations within a reasonable geography if required. Minimum Qualifications
Prior hotel or hospitality/retail experience required. High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Qualifications
