Logistics Engineer 3 – Newport News Shipbuilding, Norfolk, VA Employer Overview

Role Summary
Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks. Gathers, maintains and manipulates technical data, produces engineering documentation and reports, and performs detailed mathematical calculations. Uses a personal computer to develop analyses, documentation and support engineering evaluations. Key Responsibilities
Technical evaluation of shipboard and shore‑based spares of repair material for propulsion plant support systems during RCOH. Produce technical ordering data for government contract procurements. Develop technical specifications and repair instructions. Create and maintain Provisioning Technical Documents (PTD), Individual Repair Part Ordering Data (IRPOD) and Liaison Action Request (LAR) as required. Review and verify NNPN (Newport News Part Numbers) for steam and electric APLs. Review purchase orders for Refueling and Complex Overhaul (RCOH) to determine material support needs. Provide quarterly reports to the Integrated Logistics Support Management Team (ILSMT). Utilize the Data Analytic Solutions Database (DAS Jump Site) for NNPN review. Assist in creating and approving PTDs, LARs and other logistic task documentation in the Enterprise Business System (EBS). Respond to NAVSEA engineer questions during the approval process. Qualifications – Must Have
Associate’s Degree and 3 years of relevant experience. Alternatives meeting the minimum: NNS Apprentice School graduate, Navy Nuclear Power School graduate, or High School/GED with 2–4 years of manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades or military experience. Qualifications – Nice to Have
